The Pop-Up Union

University management plan to privatise 235 campus jobs. This is being imposed without consultation or discussion with the staff and students. The Pop-Up Union has been formed by staff as a way to come together in opposition to privatisation and outsourcing. It is open to all workers on campus – whether you’re one of the 235 or not.

The Pop-Up Union is not a rival to existing recognised unions but a complement. It is the aim of the Pop-Up Union to encourage worker solidarity by bringing all workers on campus under one umbrella. Dues are set low to encourage dual membership and avoid duplication of functions with existing unions. See the Frequently Asked Qquestions for more information.
